The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has praised the honor bestowed upon the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, during the 35th Convocation Ceremony and the 50th Anniversary Celebration of UNIPORT, deeming it not only timely but also richly deserved, given Wike’s legacy of service as a two-term governor and currently as a minister.
He characterized Wike as a transformational and visionary leader whose efforts in governance and development continue to influence Nigeria’s future.
Fubara made this statement in a message he signed on behalf of his family and the people of Rivers State on Saturday, congratulating his predecessor on being awarded a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) Honoris Causa by the University of Port Harcourt.
“This esteemed recognition is not merely a celebration of your remarkable achievements,” he remarked, “but also a testament to your contributions to education, governance, and societal improvement.”
Fubara underscored that Wike’s efforts have elevated numerous lives and rekindled hope in leadership.
He stated, “It is entirely appropriate that your alma mater honors you for your exceptional commitment and the pivotal role you continue to play in shaping Nigeria’s future.”
He conveyed immense pride in this achievement and extended heartfelt congratulations to the FCT Minister, wishing him even greater successes in the years to come.
