The Enugu State House of Representatives Caucus has commended the developmental achievements of Governor Peter Mbah since he took office two years ago.
The caucus characterized the governor’s initiatives in improving road infrastructure, tackling insecurity, revitalizing struggling state-owned enterprises, and hastening the completion of neglected projects as remarkable.
The Enugu federal lawmakers expressed their appreciation in their midterm evaluation of Mbah’s leadership, which was released by the caucus leader, Nnolim Nnaji, yesterday.
Additionally, the caucus acknowledged Mbah’s substantial investments in education, agriculture, and the emphasis on the agro value chain, which they believe will attract investors, create jobs, and significantly enhance the state’s economy in the near future.
“We are also pleased that the state government’s initiatives and projects, whether in education, agricultural investments, road infrastructure, or the health sector, are being equitably distributed across the 260 wards in the state, in accordance with the governor’s inclusive development model.”
“The ongoing development of 260 Smart Green Schools, 260 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, 260 Farm Estates, transport infrastructure, roads, tourism facilities, and many other foundational projects being rapidly established are clear indicators that the governor’s commitment to elevate the state’s economy from $4.5 billion to $30 billion within eight years is achievable.
“We also commend the governor’s efforts to promote local and foreign direct investment, which are producing positive outcomes due to the security measures and infrastructure improvements that have made Enugu a safe and favorable environment for business,” the caucus remarked.
The lawmakers praised the government’s commitment to “an ambitious and proactive urban renewal program throughout all zones of Enugu metropolis, which has transformed it into a significant construction hub.”
