Professor Pat Utomi has been sued by the Department of State Services (DSS) for allegedly attempting to set up what he refers to as “a shadow government” in the nation.
The DSS asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to declare the action an attack on the constitution in a lawsuit that was filed there.
The only defendant in the lawsuit is Professor Utomi, the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) 2007 presidential candidate.
The Security Agency argued that Utomi’s action was meant to cause unrest and destabilize the nation in the lawsuit filed on May 13 by Senior Advocate of Nigeria Akinlolu Kehinde.
In addition to being an anomaly, the DSS contended that the proposed shadow government was a serious constitutional assault and a danger to the incumbent democratically elected administration.
A judge has not yet been designated to hear the case.
