10 Traditional Leaders Backing Lamido Exit

Over 10 traditional and community leaders in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State have left their office as community and traditional leaders.

A representative for the leaders and the Ubandoma of Sarkin Gobir, Jamilu Gobir, said over ten of them and their devotees chose to leave and settle with Senator Ibrahim Lamido of Sokoto East to free the eastern zone of Sokoto from the shackles of frailty, destitution, and education backwardness.

He expressed beyond politics, the eastern zone of Sokoto is needing intentional mediations to free the region economically haven’t experienced a great deal from the activities of criminals, which has disrupted socio-economic activities for a considerable length of time.

An internal uprise within the Sokoto State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has split the party into two factions; one led by Senator Lamido and another led by Senator Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto North), a former governor of the state and guide to Governor Ahmed Aliyu.

About 40 APC members who are faithful to Lamido have left their office under Governor Aliyu to demonstrate their loyalty to the federal lawmaker, whom they consider the leader of the party since the beginning of the uprise.
