The board of trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to urgently convene a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to tend to the crisis within the party.
Chairman of the PDP board of trustees, Senator Adulphus Wabara, made the recommendation at a meeting of the BOT in Abuja on Thursday.
Wabara likewise urged all that are invited by the party’s disciplinary committee to unreservedly present themselves to the committee, zeroing in on the supremacy of the party over any member.
As indicated by him, the Board of Trustees (BoT) held an important meeting with the Lead Representative of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, in August, where issues around the political situation in the state and its impact on the party were looked into.
The PDP has been dealing with internal crisis which has divided its members along lines with respect to the tenure of the acting national chairman, Umar Damagum and issues of calling to order of faultering members.
