Being Thankful Limits Me From Making Moves – Fubara To Critics

Rivers State Lead Representative, Siminalayi Fubara has said his amount of appreciation for his political benefactor is the reason he is limited from making certain moves.

The Lead Representative was responding to those labeling him as an ungrateful politician following the crisis between him and a former Lead Representative of the state now the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Lead Representative Fubara stated this when he hosted on courtesy visit the Stakeholders of Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality, including the leadership of Ogbakor Ikwerre Cultural Organisation Worldwide, the Supreme Council of Ikwerre Traditional Rulers, and others at Government House in Port Harcourt.

The Ikwerre Ethnic Group, made of four Local Government Areas of Port Harcourt, Obio/Akpor, Emoji and Ikwerre, is the ethnic group of Wike.

Lead Representative Fubara guaranteed that regardless the political events in the state, he won’t go ahead despite any potential risks, but will keep on showing regard to people of Rivers for what and who they are.

The explanation came following the swearing-in of Barrister Emmanuel Frank-Fubara who was screened and affirmed as a commissioner by the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led assembly.

The swearing ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Giving his charge after the oath-taking ceremony, Lead Representative Fubara guarded his recognition of the Oko-Jumbo-led assembly, demanding that it is the legally recognized legislative arm.

Lead Representative Fubara, in any case, communicated his displeasure with the police for not doing what’s necessary to disentangle current realities about the bomb blast in Port Harcourt a few weeks ago.

He asserted that the relevant authorities were silent because the suspects in the attack were not his allies.

“I’ve not been hearing anything and I’m wondering, after how many weeks now, the Nigeria police are still not able to come out and make a statement about the attempt by someone – who I don’t know what his name is tried to detonate dynamite in front of Hotel Presidential,” Fubara said.

“I’m still wondering why it doesn’t happen. But if it’s maybe any other thing that has to do with us, they will say they should even charge the person for terrorism.”

The Rivers State Lead Representative recalled how his allies were apprehended and accused of terrorism for ills they didn’t commit.

Yet, Fubara said he will keep on relying on God’s grace and protection to administer the state.
