The Kogi State government has urged its citizens to embrace democracy as the Local Government elections are set to be held on Saturday across the state.
In a statement by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo , urged to embrace democracy as the free will of the people, and the power of the ballot over the bullets.
It added that the state government will do everything within the precinct of the law to maintain law and order. There will be restrictions on the movement of vehicles during the political race.
“The State Government reports the limitation of vehicular movement between the hours of 7 am to 4 pm on Saturday 19th October 2024.
“The choice is to guarantee a sans hitch Council Poll in the State and to ensure the security of voters and citizens across the 21 Local Government Areas of the State.
“The State Government has directed security agencies to implement the order in light of a legitimate concern for the people and to guarantee that offenders are punished.
