Human rights attorney Deji Adeyanju is a supporter of President Bola Tinubu, according to Dr. Sam Amadi, the former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, or NERC.
The allegation followed Adeyanju’s persistent criticism of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential contender.
On the lawyer’s social media handle, warned that he (Deji) would support Tinubu if the opposition leaders’ group fielded Obi for the 2027 election.
His actions had stoked rumors that he might be covertly supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC, but the attorney has subsequently refuted those claims.
“You are a Tinubu supporter; I am an Obi supporter,” Amadi replied on social media in response to one of his offensive posts criticizing Obi. You have a valid (human) justification for your backing. You are within your rights.
Sharing the post, Deji said Amadi’s “tears are tasty”, adding that if Obi should secure the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, a party adopted by the coalition, he would not hesitate to cast his vote for APC.
“Your tears are tasty the Doc, my able lecturer, he wrote. I will openly vote Tinubu with my full chest if the opposition makes the mistake of presenting your candidate.
“I will help Tinubu secure a second term the way you guys helped him in 2023 by dividing opposition votes.”
