2027 Election: Lagos Politician Jandor Predicts Easy Victory For Tinubu

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for the governorship in Lagos State for 2023, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, commonly referred to as Jandor, has forecasted a clear victory for President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.

He stated that, despite the significant opposition Tinubu encountered in 2023, which included a loss in his home state of Lagos to Peter Obi of the Labour Party, such political disruptions are unlikely to happen again in 2027.

“Recall that in 2023, Jandor and his Lagos for Lagos movement were on the outside, and this time, we are back on the inside,” he remarked. “Thus, it will not be the same as what you observed in 2023.”
He further noted that Tinubu’s influence has expanded nationally, indicating a straightforward victory not only in Lagos but throughout the nation.

“2027 will not only be a success in Lagos but across the entire country; it will be a walkover for the man whose bravery has contributed significantly to our nation today,” he asserted.
Tinubu emerged victorious in the highly contested 2023 presidential election, defeating Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and other candidates. Nevertheless, he suffered a loss in Lagos State to Obi, a result that was perceived as a considerable symbolic setback at that time.

In March, Jandor left the PDP and rejoined the APC, stating that he was returning to a party that prioritizes winning, regardless of who is on the ballot.

Jandor finished third in the 2023 governorship election in Lagos State, trailing behind APC’s Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party.
Now that he is back in the APC, he has announced his intention to run again for the governorship of Lagos State.

“What you heard yesterday is our opportunity to once again demonstrate our capability and aim for the same position that we sought during the previous election cycle,” Jandor stated.
“Certainly, there is nothing else to pursue now except to contend for the same office.

There are no available positions in Aso Rock until 2031; I might have suggested that perhaps the next step should be my candidacy for the presidency.

“As you heard yesterday, we are focused on our objectives, taking necessary actions, and we should begin to mobilize support for the party throughout the state.

“Ultimately, whoever the party selects to run will be the candidate that we all unite behind and support. However, regarding Jandor, I am committed to running in 2027, and I have made that clear.”

Jandor expressed his openness to the prospect of competing against Seyi Tinubu in the APC governorship primary in Lagos, stating that the president’s son is highly qualified to run for the position and would receive his complete backing if nominated by the party.
