Yusuf Relegates Portfolios To New Kano Commissioners

Kano State Chief Executive Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced portfolios to the newly appointed commissioners, permanent secretaries, and special advisers.

Before their primary places of assignment were made known, the new appointees took renewed oaths of allegiance and office.

In the new appointment, Shehu Wada Sagagi, former Chief of Staff now commissioner of the Ministry of Investment, Commerce, and Trade; AbdulKadir Abdulsalam, former Accountant General (AG) as Commissioner for Rural and Community Development while Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiye takes over the Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs.

Dr Gadaffi Shehu Sani resumed the newly established Ministry of Power and Sustainable Energy, Dr. Dahiru Hashim is the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Ismail Aliyu DanMaraya is the Commissioner for Finance and Nura Iro Ma’aji is the Commissioner for Procurement and Project Monitoring.

The 13 special advisers and six permanent secretaries equally took oaths administered by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isa Haruna Dederi.

Yusuf made sense of the fact that he has assembled the new appointees on merit to solidify his administration’s policies while discharging campaign vows.

The State Chief Executive emphasized that while celebrating milestone accomplishments his administration recorded, he is ready to face challenges ahead.

He encouraged the new members of the state executive Council to rededicate themselves to meeting public expectations.

“The expectations from Kano residents are high. We must work hard together to meet the demands of the people. Let me draw your attention that your office is public office. You must work in public interest,” he said.

“I want to urge you to foster inclusiveness and discharge your duties with honesty, dedication, and trust. You must hold the trust firmly and in the overall interest of the state. You must measure up and set standards in the interest of the public,” Yusuf cautioned.

Speaking on behalf of the new appointees, the new commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Trade, Sagagi commended the State Chief Executive for the opportunity to serve in the public office.

He said the new appointees would stay committed and loyal to discharge their entrusted responsibility in their respective capabilities.
