Wike Revokes FCT Lands Of Buhari, Others

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has revoked lands belonging to former President Muhammed Buhari, the Speaker of the Green Chamber, Tajudeen Abbas; and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.

Likewise, 759 other prominent individuals and organizations in Maitama II, Abuja were similarly impacted by the revocation which was for non-payment of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).

This was conveyed in a publication by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and made available to news sources by the Special Adviser to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka.

In a separate publication, the minister likewise took steps to revoke lands belonging to the Minority Leader of the Green Chamber, Kingsley Chinda; former presidents of the Red Chamber, Iyorchia Ayu and Ameh Ebute; the Chief Whip of the Red Chamber, Tahir Monguno; and 610 others for outstanding fees owed to the FCTA for certificate of occupancy not paid within two weeks.

This revocation by the minister emerges months after he made several pleas to residents of the FCT, especially those dwelling in hybrid regions of the nation’s capital, to remit outstanding fees owed to the FCTA or risk revocation of their lands.
