Tragedy Hits Kogi – 6 Dead, 60 Hurt

The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC has affirmed the demise of six people who lost their lives in a car accident involving an articulated vehicle on Tuesday night in Lokoja, Kogi State.

FRSC Sector Commander in charge of Kogi State, Samuel Oyedeji, who affirmed the level of losses in the accident to journalists, additionally revealed that 60 persons sustained various degrees of injuries in the awful episode.

He attributed the accident to over-speeding and asked motorists to constantly comply to road regulations to avoid accidents on the road.

He referenced that FRSC officers in collaboration with the police and Civil Defense personnel have rushed the injured to Kogi Specialist Hospital and Federal University Teaching Hospital Lokoja for medical attention.

The Sector Commander said that the bodies of the six dead persons likewise also been deposited at the Federal University Teaching Hospital.
