President Bola Tinubu has written the Senate, seeking the screening and subsequent affirmation of Dr. Olatunji Bello as the Chief Executive Officer/Executive Vice Chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC.
The President has likewise sent to the Senate for affirmation, names of three nominees for consideration and affirmation for appointment as chairman, Secretary and member of the Police Service Commission (PSC) respectively.
The nominees are the retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Hashim Argungu as the chairman, Chief Onyema Uche as the Secretary, and retired DIG Taiwo Lakanu as a member of the PSC.
Reading the President’s letters of nomination, President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio sent the appeal to various committees for additional legislative work.
Bello’s nomination was alluded to the Senate Committee for Trade and Investment while those of Argungu, Uche and Lankano were alluded to the Senate Committee on Police Affairs.
Akpabio asked that both committees ought to report back T plenary in the next one week.
