Former President, Muhammadu Buhari, said that security and economy improved significantly in Nigeria during his eight year-term.
He revealed this when he received members of the Katsina State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists at his country home, Daura, Katsina State on a courtesy visit.
Buhari recalled that before his administration, difficulties of security and economy were rocking the nation, focusing on the fact that his administration had significantly checkmated the menace of terrorism and monetary meltdown in the nation.
He further made sense of the fact that the revolving security and economic techniques initiated and executed by his administration effectively handled the economic and security woes he inherited from his predecessors.
As indicated by Buhari, only Nigerians in the corridor of power would comprehend the administrative difficulties facing the nation, focusing on the fact that the country’s chiefs always confronted bottlenecks in executing policies and programmes.
“Security and economy improved significantly in Nigeria under my administration compared to what we met in 2015. Things will continue to improve in Nigeria”, he insisted.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Katsina State, Alhaji Yusuf Jargaba, thanked the former President for tackling terrorism, banditry and other security challenges during his tenure.
“Your hard work, dedication and selfless service to humanity were responsible for maintaining the country’s unity, making the country remain indivisible”, Jargaba stated.
