The Red chamber is set to start the vetting of seven ministerial nominees recently announced by President Bola Tinubu today.
This follows the earlier request to the Senate by President Tinubu to confirm the new ministerial nominees.
The Special Adviser to the President on Red Chamber Matters, Senator Basheer Lado, in an explanation on Monday, affirmed that ministerial nominees have commenced documentation ahead of their screening and affirmation by the Upper Chamber.
He expressed that the nominees were at that point submitting relevant documents as first in the series of mandatory protocol for the screening and affirmation of ministerial nominees.
The candidates are to be screened and affirmed by the Senate in adherent with Section 147 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (As Amended).
