Edo State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, commenced its statewide gubernatorial campaign where it stated that it made certain of triumph and encouraged security agencies to be reasonable for all members in the activity.
The assembly was held in Ubiaja, the headquarters of Esan South West Local Government Area had in participation top leaders of the party including former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tom Ikimi, former Deputy Governor, Mike Ogiadomhe; State chairman of the party, Tony Aziegbemi; Sen Odion Ugbesia; Deputy National Youth Leader of the party, Tim Osadolor and others.
Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku said Governor Godwin Obaseki was an intelligent man who has established a groundwork that only the candidate of the PDP, Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie have the ability to proceed.
Francis Inegbeneki on his part expressed in opposition to reports, he was not on the run and that “following 24 years holding on to deliver the governor, we can’t create Okpebholo (APC Candidate) because he lacks capacity.
Mrs Betsy Obaseki mentioned the PDP was quick to guarantee reasonableness by bringing Ighodalo as the applicant and that others were simply duplicating the PDP yet “surprisingly, they brought somebody who is not competent. Remember that Edo is always first and believes in fairness and equity. That is why the governor worked to bring the candidate from here.”
Ikimi summoned President Bola Tinubu to guarantee a free and fair political race in the state, “My message to the IG of police, the DG of DSS is that they should ensure security on the election day for everybody. I have only one vote and let our votes count.”
