Okpebholo Stands By Decision To Suspend Edo LG Chairmen

The Lead representative of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, on Tuesday, defended the suspension of 18 elected local government chairmen by the State House of Assembly.

The lead representative who chronicled events that went before and required the suspension of the 18 local government councils chairmen, cited their inability to explain the motivation behind contributing N800m monthly to leaders of a certain political party.

The lead representative spread the word during a meeting with acting local government chairmen at the Government House in Benin City, the state capital.

Okpebholo promised to support the acting chairmen whose elected chairmen were as of late impugned by members of their legislative arms.

The lead representative, guaranteed the acting chairmen of his support, said he believed they are equipped of delivering service that would ensure grassroots turn of events.
