As more members of opposition parties, especially the All Progressives Congress (APC), change their allegiance, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chapter in Taraba State has continued to gain political ground.
Yusuf Yuuf, the APC Ward Chairman of Bilga Ward in the Ibi Local Government Council, has formally resigned from his position and defected to the ADC, according to the most recent event.
In his letter of resignation, which was turned in on Monday, Yuuf stated that he had a strong ideological and personal conflict with the APC’s current course and the demands of his supporters.
“I was one of the founding members of the All Progressives Congress, and I have served diligently as a ward chairman.
However, I have come to terms with a difficult truth: there is a growing disconnect between my convictions, the realities I observe, and the actual needs of the people I represent,” he said.
Yuuf praised the APC for the platform it gave him and thanked the supporters who supported him during his tenure in the party, stating that his choice was the result of “deep thought and thorough reflection.”
The APC Zonal Chairman for Taraba South has received a copy of his resignation letter.
In Taraba State, Yuuf’s departure contributes to an increasing number of APC defections to the ADC. His departure occurs only a few weeks after Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi, a former member of the House of Representatives for the Ibi/Wukari Federal Constituency, switched from the APC to the ADC.
