“Indeed, you have distinguished your group as League of Northern Democrats yet the way that I wish you call your group National League of Democrats because where you come from ought not be an issue. Where I was conceived ought not be the adversary of my Nigerians. I will be expanding by being a Nigerian as opposed being a member of the Republic of Oodua.
“I’m without a doubt proud to be a Yoruba yet my being a Nigerian ought not be the foe of my being a Yoruba…we should get the most qualified for the job, it doesn’t make any difference where he comes from. We should start thinking responsibly.
“The African continent, the black race and the entire world are looking up unto us. When we got our independence, what they were calling us was giant in the sun, but is that the situation today?” he challenged.
