The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has officially appointed Professor Ibibia Lucky Worika as the new Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG).
In a statement released from Government House on Tuesday morning, Ibas indicated that this decision was made after a thorough evaluation of Worika’s qualifications, extensive background, and his performance during a comprehensive selection process.
The previous SSG, who served under the suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, was Dr. Tammy Danagogo.
Additionally, Ibas has appointed Dr. Mrs. Iyingi Brown to serve as the new Head of Service in an acting role. Brown, who previously held the position of Permanent Secretary for Welfare, succeeds Dr. George Nwaeke, the former Head of Service, who has submitted his resignation, as noted in Ibas’s statement.
Ibas expressed gratitude to Nwaeke for his brief tenure in the administration and extended his best wishes for the future.
Ibas emphasized that the selection of Professor Worika as SSG demonstrates his commitment to leveraging the significant human resources of Rivers State to collaborate in achieving essential peace, stability, and security.
