Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has restored the state Ministry of Information, which was disbanded during his predecessor Nasir El-Rufai’s administration.
Professor Mohammed Sani-Bello, the former Director General of the Nigerian Energy Commission, was also reassigned by the governor to lead the new ministry, and Professor Abubakar Sani Sambo was named the new Commissioner of Education.
Sambo formerly served as the President’s Special Advisor on Energy and as the Director General of the Nigerian Energy Commission.
Ibraheem Musa, the state lead representative’s chief press secretary, said in a statement that Gloria Ibrahim was also named the commissioner for youth development by the state lead representative.
The statement added that the appointments and redeployment are with immediate effect.
State lead representative Uba Sani, who congratulated the appointees, stated that he expects Education Commissioner Professor Sambo to revitalize the Kaduna State Education Ministry in order to fulfill the agenda of his administration, which includes expanding educational opportunities, constructing and renovating infrastructure, boosting teacher proficiency, utilizing ICT, giving priority to education for girls, and bolstering school security.
However, in keeping with Governor Sani’s emphasis on youth empowerment, the Commissioner for Youth Development is expected to design innovative, creative, and implementable programs and projects to establish the Ministry as a premier hub for high-impact solutions for youth-related problems.
