In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Governor Siminalayi Fubara condemned the dissemination of false videos allegedly showing explosions at oil and gas facilities within the state.

The statement emphasized that the communities affected have refuted these claims, confirming that all essential infrastructure remains secure and fully operational.

“To clarify, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has no affiliations with any militant organization, does not consider such associations, and has no motive to incite any criminal activities that could jeopardize peace, security, or the economy,” the statement asserted.

Fubara reiterated his dedication to preserving peace in Rivers State, highlighting that effective governance and development can only flourish in a stable environment.

He also cautioned against attempts to manipulate the current political turmoil in the state for personal gain.

Additionally, Fubara warned bloggers and social media influencers about the dangers of spreading misinformation, noting that such actions could heighten tensions and undermine stability.

He called on security agencies to conduct thorough investigations and take firm action against those responsible for disseminating false information.
