Abubakar Malami, the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, has urged his supporters in Kebbi State to avoid making political remarks that could heighten tensions within the region.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Mohammed Doka, Malami cautioned musicians, influencers, and political backers against employing derogatory language, mockery, or direct confrontations, emphasizing that such conduct is intolerable. ‘I urge our numerous supporters to engage in issue-oriented discussions with the public.

Their remarks should be constructive and not detrimental to our democracy and the unity of Nigeria,’ the former AGF stated. Doka characterized Malami as a peace-loving and law-abiding individual who would not endorse any actions or statements that might threaten the tranquility of Kebbi State. There have been rumors in Kebbi regarding Malami’s possible return to active politics, with indications that he may contest against the current governor, Nasir Idris, in the upcoming election.

The former minister played a significant role in the governor’s ascent to power, yet they are now perceived as political adversaries. Recently, some musicians and social media influencers aligned with Malami have started to use offensive language and subtle attacks online, prompting Malami to issue this warning.
