Soyinka Faults Tinubu’s Emergency Rule In Rivers

Nobel Prize winner Professor Wole Soyinka has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s announcement of a state of emergency in Rivers State.

In a televised interview, Soyinka characterized the move as an overreaction.

Tinubu imposed emergency rule in the resource-rich state on Tuesday in response to the ongoing political turmoil and instability.

Additionally, he suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers State Assembly for an initial duration of six months. Nobel Prize winner Professor Wole Soyinka has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s announcement of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
