Suspected bandits on Monday evening abducted a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu,while on a trip to Jos.
According to reports, the incidence occured around 6:00 p.m between Nunku in Akwanga Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, and Gwantu in Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
While exchanging gun fires, the attackers fatally shot the police escort assigned to Dr. Kigbu, while trying to protect his principal from abduction. This led to pandemonium on the side of road users and motorists.
Local villagers while confirming the incident added that the location has been notorious for criminal activities over the years.
