Austin Okai, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has resigned his membership in the party.

The sociopolitical activist, who was born in Kogi, announced his resignation to the media on Monday and claimed to have joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Okai had been one of the PDP’s main image makers until the protracted leadership crisis rocked the party, appearing in several interviews with major newspapers and television networks.

Following the ADC’s official launch in the Kogi West Senatorial District, numerous lawmakers from various parties reportedly joined the party.

Former legislator Senator Dino Melaye bemoaned the growing suffering in Nigeria and presented the ADC as the sole practical choice for Nigerians during the unveiling, which happened over the weekend.

The former legislator emphasized that there is widespread hunger and malnutrition in Nigeria and said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has made life difficult for Nigerians.
