Atiku Tells APC: Tinubu’s Fate Rests on 2027 Election

According to former vice president Atiku Abubakar, President Bola Tinubu’s future would be decided by the general elections in 2027, which will act as a referendum on his government.

In response to recent accusations made by the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC, Atiku made this statement Monday night through Paul Ibe, his media adviser.

According to Veegil media, Atiku was accused by the APC of trying to realign the opposition for personal benefit, emphasizing that his goal was to reclaim state resources.

Ibe denied the accusation and said that Atiku’s work was motivated by Nigerians’ desire for a better life.

“It’s clear that these people were never prepared for governance. All they’re interested in is politics. They’ve gone to extreme lengths to ensure the demise of progress. Every action they’ve taken contradicts the very essence of democracy,” he remarked.

The Tinubu administration’s ineptitude was also criticized by Atiku’s spokesperson, who used the completion of just 30 kilometers of a 700-kilometer road in two years as an example.

“They rolled out all the drums and celebrated completing a mere 4% of the project. Isn’t that absurd? Such irresponsibility! The money spent on that celebration could have been used to build several more kilometres of that road,” he added.

While drawing attention to Nigeria’s worsening socioeconomic circumstances, Ibe also noted that the nation has emerged as the global center of poverty and is currently leading Africa in child malnutrition.

Ibe emphasized that Atiku’s activities were motivated by Nigerians’ aspirations for a better life rather than by self-interest.

By juxtaposing Atiku’s business accomplishments with the records of his detractors, the spokesperson further defended Atiku’s honesty.

“Where were these critics when His Excellency was already well-established long before democracy began in 1999? Atiku has run multi-million-dollar businesses, employed people, and invested his own resources into his campaigns. He’s not looking to exploit state funds like they are,” Ibe added.

He insisted that Tinubu and the rest of Nigeria will compete in the next election and asked the APC to concentrate on governance rather than Atiku’s actions.
