The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has defered its National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings earlier slated for September 11 and 12, 2024 respectively.
This was revealed in a statement on Monday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary (NPS), Felix Morka.
The statement read, “Members of the National Caucus and National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress are hereby informed that the National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings scheduled to be held on September 11 and 12, 2024, respectively, have been postponed.
“New dates for the meetings will be communicated in due course.”
Although no explanation was given for the deferment, journalists gathered that President Bola Tinubu’s absence in the country was partly responsible for the turn of events.
A source at the secretariat told journalists that the choice was made following uncertainty that Tinubu would be in attendance.
“We understand that the President may not be around in the country on the said dates due to international engagement abroad,” the source said.
