Afolabi & Oshun Reject Fayemi’s Association With Coalition Opposing Tinubu

Two key figures from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Ayo Afolabi and Mr. Wale Oshun, called on Nigerians, particularly party supporters, to reject rumors suggesting that former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi is involved in a coalition of politicians seeking to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

In separate phone interviews, they characterized these claims as a harmful political tactic intended to disrupt the political landscape, labeling the rumors as part of a broader conspiracy by certain politicians aiming to remove President Tinubu from office in 2027. They described the allegations as unfounded and malicious.

Additionally, Segun Dipe, the APC spokesperson in Ekiti, stated in another phone conversation that there is no truth to the claims that the party or the presidency has made arrangements to deny Governor Biodun Oyebanji a re-election ticket next year due to his association with former Governor Fayemi.

Dipe’s comments followed speculation that the presidency was displeased with the former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, primarily due to his purported involvement with opposition politicians against President Tinubu’s re-election efforts, and that this might lead to repercussions for Oyebanji, who succeeded Fayemi.
