The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the ongoing Ekiti State election, Otunba Emmanuel Fayose Oluyede, has expressed concerns over the conduct of the poll, alleging irregularities in parts of the state.
Speaking during the election, Oluyede claimed that certain developments observed during voting and accreditation had raised questions about the transparency of the process. He further alleged that some actions by electoral and security personnel may have affected the level playing field expected in a democratic contest.
The PDP candidate called on relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate reported incidents and ensure that every legitimate vote is protected and counted.
According to him, the integrity of the electoral process is as important as the outcome itself, stressing that stakeholders must remain committed to upholding democratic principles.
Despite the concerns raised, voting continued across the state as electoral officials, party agents, security personnel, and observers monitored developments at polling units.
