PDP in Niger State Elects New Chairman

Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Halidu has been elected as the new state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State.

In a highly competitive election, Halidu received 1,289 votes, while Yahaya Abdullahi (Ability), his rival, received 1,260 votes.

In addition, Hadi Kuta was named State Secretary, and Mrs. Salomi Ndakosu was elected Woman Leader after defeating Mrs. Ramotu Jibrin, who garnered 590 votes, with 1,373 votes.

The newly elected chairman urged unity among party members in his acceptance address.

In order to regain the party’s dominance in the state, Halidu emphasized the necessity of teamwork.

The chairman also expressed confidence in PDP’s potential to unseat the current ruling party in the 2027 elections.

He also exhorted members to work together towards electoral success, starting with the upcoming local government elections in November.
