Aminu Tambuwal, the former state lead representative of Sokoto State, has come under fire from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which claims he is the main issue facing the opposition.
The APC denied Tambuwal’s allegations that President Bola Tinubu was attempting to destabilize the opposition in a statement released on Sunday by Felix Morka, the party’s national publicity secretary.
Morka claimed that the president and the ruling party had no free time to interfere with what he called dysfunctional opposition parties because they were entirely focused on governing.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives claimed in a televised appearance that Tinubu and the APC were planning to discredit opposition parties in front of the 2027 elections and that they would work with others to defeat them.
Morka accused Tambuwal and other opposition leaders of political blackmail and power obsession, but he claimed they had not offered any proof for their allegations.
“With nothing of value to offer Nigerians, these opposition elements have now turned political prophets trumpeting their base wishes and 2027 predictions that only truly portend the devastating defeat that awaits them at the voting thumbs of the good Nigerian electorate,” Morka said.
He claimed that opposition figures such as Tambuwal, Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi had failed to effectively lead their parties, which he characterized as lacking direction and being undermined by internal conflicts.
